Water Supply Disruptions in La Chorrera

On Tuesday, December 9, water supply disruptions are possible in several areas of La Chorrera and Arraiján due to maintenance work at the water treatment plant.

Water Supply Disruptions in La Chorrera

Water, which is needed for cooking, bathing, and even for a good morning coffee, will arrive with low pressure or not at all this Tuesday, December 9th. The water treatment plant 'Jaime Díaz Quintero El Trapichito' will operate at only 50% of its capacity, as confirmed by the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan), which gave advance notice to ensure no one is left without service. The measure is being taken because cleaning work will be carried out on the sedimenters between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. These few hours may seem short on paper, but at home, they feel eternal when you turn on the tap and only hear air. The institution explained that these cleanings are necessary to maintain water quality, a maintenance that, although inconvenient, prevents bigger problems. During these five hours of work, low pressure or temporary service outages may occur, and the impact will be strongly felt in different sectors. Affected areas: La Chorrera: Guadalupe, El Coco, Playa Leona, Barrio Colón, Barrio Balboa, Puerto Caimito. Arraiján: Juan Demóstenes Arosemena, Vacamonte, Vista Alegre. In simple terms: if you live in these areas, fill your tanks, store water, and plan its use to avoid unpleasant situations. It's better to have some gallons ready than to be begging for pressure in the shower at the last minute. Water is life, and for a few hours, it will be scarce.
